About the OpportunityWe are partnering with a large, global financial services organisation seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist to join their team on a fixed-term contract during a period of transformation and increased project activity.
This is an excellent opportunity for a payroll professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced, complex environment and is confident supporting end-to-end payroll processes across multiple entities. You will join a collaborative payroll function, playing a key role in ensuring accurate and timely payroll delivery while supporting broader payroll initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Payroll Processing & Administration
- Support the delivery of fortnightly payroll processing across multiple entities
- Process and maintain payroll data, including:
- New starters and onboarding changes
- Employee amendments and payroll updates
- Terminations and final payments
- Superannuation, taxation, allowances and deductions
- Ensure payroll records are maintained accurately and in line with internal processes
- Validate employee data as part of the payroll cycle to support accurate outcomes
- Perform payroll checks and reconciliations to ensure accuracy and compliance
- Review payroll calculations, identify discrepancies and investigate variances
- Validate timesheets, overtime, reimbursements and variable payments
- Support compliance with relevant payroll legislation, including tax, superannuation and leave entitlements
- Respond to payroll-related queries from employees and internal stakeholders in a timely and professional manner
- Partner with the broader payroll and HR teams to resolve payroll issues efficiently
- Work across payroll systems to support BAU payroll activities and project requirements
- Follow established payroll controls and processes to maintain data integrity and audit compliance
- Contribute to process improvements and support payroll-related initiatives where required
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- Demonstrated experience in payroll processing, ideally within a medium-to-large or complex organisation
- Strong understanding of taxation, superannuation, leave entitlements and payroll compliance
- Experience working across multiple entities or high-volume payroll environments
- Strong attention to detail and high levels of accuracy
- Advanced or strong Excel capability, with confidence working with large datasets
- The ability to work independently while thriving in a collaborative team environment
- Exposure to large ERP/payroll systems (experience with enterprise systems highly regarded)
