There is now an opportunity for a Financial Accountant to join the team on a permanent basis, which offers the chance to contribute to a stable, purpose-led organisation with long-term vision.

Your new roleReporting to the Financial Controller, this role will be responsible for delivering financial reporting, compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements and supporting strong financial governance across the corporate operations of the company. You will be a key stakeholder in partnering with multiple stakeholders across different business units as well as being responsible for leading month-end close, budgeting and continuous improvement.

Key duties will include:

• Preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with accounting standards
• Managing compliance with statutory tax, BAS, GST, payroll tax, and FBT.
• Coordinating external audits and acting as a main contact for the auditors.
• Maintaining the general ledger, balance sheet reconciliations and fixed asset register.
• Driving continuous improvements across multiple entities, including system upgrades, automation initiatives, data integrity enhancements, and strengthening financial systems, controls, and reporting processes.
• Providing financial analysis and insights to support operational and strategic decision-making
• Reviewing and analysing financial results, identifying variances and trends

What you'll need to succeedTo be successful in this role, you will be CPA/CA qualified or near completing your studies. You will also have at least 3-5 years in a similar role with a strong understanding of financial reporting, reconciliations and compliance. Strong experience in ERP/accounting systems and advanced Excel skills will also be required. Experience in the agriculture sector will be highly regarded.
